WORKSHOP: FCDO AQUACULTURE PILOTS: OUTCOMES SHOWCASE

Science and Innovation Network, India supported two pilot projects in 2021 – 22 in the Aquaculture sector. 

We are organising a workshop on Friday 10th June to celebrate the remarkable outcomes. 

PILOT 1: Healthy Shrimps in India; ICAR – Central Institute for Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) and The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) UK 

PILOT 2: Satellite early warning of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in Indian waters; Plymouth Marine Laboratory and Nansen Environmental Research Centre, India

UK - India Aquaculture Club Launch Event

The club was launched by the Science and Innovation Network (SIN), India with support from Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, UK (DEFRA).

The launch event featured talks in the emerging technology sector by two organisations: 

  1. Better origins, UK : Insects as a low footprint, high protein solution for sustainable aquafarming practices
  2. Aquaconnect, India : Digitization of Aquaculture sector
